The Tampa Bay Lightning signs free agent defenseman Brett Clark to a two-year deal

No confirmation yet from the Tampa Bay Lightning, or any word on the money. But the free agent defenseman, who signed a two-year, one-way deal, has played 11 years in the league, the last six with the Avalanche.

Clark, 33, put up some offensive numbers from 2005-07 with 19 goals and 75 points. But a dislocated shoulder injury in February 2008 ended his season and required surgery. He has five goals and 32 points his past two seasons, but has remained a solid defender. He was second in the league in 2008-09 with 238 blocks. He was 11th last season with 162 in just 64 games as he had some trouble keeping his spot in the lineup.
